An old clerics ramblings
Before you is an old worn scroll that has seen better days. If you gently untie the string and carefully unroll the papyrus you just might be able to make out the barely-legible writing. A mark has been made through 'clerics.' Below it 'warrior' has been written.

I have been farming for armor for the past couple of days. This has given me time to reflect on many things. During this time I thought of a sad time from my youth. The story begins with my father. He was a merchant that transported goods from Caernivale, where we lived, to Ryndall, Milltown, then to Dundee and occasionally Fartown. My father was killed when the centuars in the western mountains ambushed our caravan. My brother and I were the only survivors, but that is another story. This story is about two young children I took in just after I gained my profession. One boy and one girl. Their father purchased goods from my father to sell in Fartown where they lived. I will never forget my first journey to Fartown soon after I became a cleric. Upon arrival in Fartown, I learned that a raiding party, of what I do not know, was on their way there. The children's father was killed as the men went to defend Fartown. Their mother gave me instruction to take them to Branishor where she would meet us. A high level enchanter cast a portal to Bran and we went through. The last thing I saw before I stepped through the portal was their mother running back into their house as it collapsed. Later, in Branishor, a messenger told me that the children's mother did not survive. The messenger handed me a crimson blossom and told me that that was found pinned in her hair. After hearing this I took the children to Dundee where they would be safe. I was a young man of eighteen summers at the time, and the only child I had been around was my brother Evan who was ten summers younger than I. Knowing next to nothing about children I took them in and raised them as my own. It was then that I decided that I would never run away from a battle, even if it meant death.

My good friend Erin Aster recently gave me a Glowing Amulet of the Order and a Friendship Ring. I am eternally grateful for these gifts. It warms the heart to know that there are many good people, like Erin, still in the lands. Nothing in this world is greater than the company of friends.

I met with the trainer today. He could not believe his eyes when he saw me in the training yard. To be honest, I thought he was going to die of shock, but after much laughter from both of us, he agreed to train me. Hopefully it will not take as long to see the trainer next time. I have spent the last few hours searching for a new training grounds. Tomorrow I will journey to Kilican Isle and either continue in the sea dweller suzerainty or try the eastern beaches. I have not yet walked the eastern beaches of Kili so it is worth a try. After much thought I have decided to put the past behind me and live in the present. Having made this decision, I have much more to meditate on.
Signed,
Narrow is the way that leads to life.
